Who We Are

As RPI Ski & Snowboard Club, we have two primary objectives. We aim to introduce Alpine skiing and snowboarding to beginners, and facilitate low-cost ski trips for more advanced skiers and riders. We take trips weekly to local mountains for both beginners and advanced riders.

We offer one trip annually to a local mountain that is open to the entire RPI community, that does not require membership, called Snow Fiesta. The date of Snow Fiesta is determined closer to the ski season, and usually takes place when there is enough snow. Typically between either Thanksgiving and finals during the fall semester, or early in the spring semester depending on conditions.  We also offer amazing deals not found anywhere else which include lift tickets and transportation for this event. This has by far been our most popular event of the year.

During the height of the season we run weekly programs to local mountains such as Killington, Okemo, Mt. Snow, etc. These are great for skiers and boarders that want to save a few bucks, and get a ride to the mountain on a comfy coach bus rather than driving.

Our office, located on the first floor of the Rensselaer Union inside the games room, is open every week throughout the winter season to help answer questions, complete trip signups, and collect payments for membership and trips. The hours of our office can be found on the left hand side of the home page.

All of these benefits are available for only a $25 yearly membership fee for a regular membership, or $110 for a premium membership.  Premium membership includes all bus fees for the year, no need to pay for each trip.  You must be a member to go on our trips (except for Snow Fiesta.)

In addition, our club is now part of the New York Capital District Ski Council. Through this organization, we benefit from council days found here. This gets members of our club, as well as our Associate Members access to discounted tickets at various mountains on specific days. Anyone can become an Associate Member, however only RPI students, faculty, and staff can join as a Regular or Premium Member.
